Director of Supply Chain
Job Purpose: To build and maintain a world-class global supply chain that supports profitable growth, safeguards margins, and ensures production and delivery reliability for every sales channel.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The Director of Supply Chain ensures Zulay Kitchen’s products flow smoothly from factory to customer — on time, at the right cost, and to the highest standard. This role oversees procurement, freight, and fulfillment, uniting all moving parts of the global supply chain under one coordinated system.
Duties will include:
1. Global Vendor Management
• Lead supply lines strategy across China, India, and other manufacturing regions.
• Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and production schedules that maximize profitability and reliability.
• Oversee factory audits, quality standards, and compliance documentation.
• Develop new and existing vendor relationships
2. Procurement & Production Planning
• Convert category forecasts and sales plans into production schedules and purchase orders.
• Ensure all PO timelines are met and proactively prevent delays or shortages.
• Validate landed costs with Finance, ensuring tariff, freight, and inspection fees are correctly calculated.
• Coordinate closely with Quality Control to align pre-shipment inspections and approvals.
3. Freight & Logistics Management
• Direct global freight operations (ocean, air, courier) and ensure on-time, cost-efficient shipping.
• Manage relationships with freight forwarders, brokers, and 3PL warehouses.
• Oversee shipment routing for Amazon FBA, U.S. warehouses, and international fulfillment.
• Continuously optimize container utilization, delivery timing, and routing efficiency.
4. Inventory & Supply Forecasting
• Maintain real-time visibility of inventory levels across all facilities and regions.
• Align supply plans with Category Managers to match demand and avoid stockouts or overstock.
• Track lead times, delivery accuracy, and supply flow to anticipate and correct production or logistics issues.
5. Data, Systems & Reporting
• Establish standardized dashboards and reports to track supply chain performance and costs.
• Ensure all supplier, freight, and inspection data is complete, accurate, and timely.
• Collaborate with the SVP of Operations and Finance to align supply data with company-wide profitability tracking.
6. Leadership & Team Development
• Lead the Supply Chain Division, which includes Procurement, Freight, and Shipment Logistics departments.
• Train and develop staff to think strategically, take ownership, and work cross-divisionally.
• Build a culture of accountability, transparency, and initiative — where every team member understands their contribution to company profit.
